UC Berkeley Cooperative Extension
By conducting and publishing applied research, writing and disseminating educational materials, developing new interactive web-based technologies, and participating in stakeholder and agency working groups and committees, cooperative extension specialists provide the people of California with “tools to both protect the Earth’s natural resources and ensure economic and ecological sustainability for future generations.” The current strengths of the specialists in ESPM are conservation biology, landscape ecology, wildlife management, urban and agricultural pest management, forestry and forest pathology, fire ecology, and food security.

iCAST offers turn-key services in sustainable agriculture focused on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Waste Utilization. iCAST specializes in a) technical and economic feasibility analysis, b) business plan development, c) process design, d) project implementation and management, and e) grant funding and market-based financing. iCAST partners with farmers and rural communities to develop solutions that are sustainable. iCAST projects use local resources for local benefit.

Alternative Energy Resources Organization (AERO)
AERO is a 32 year-old grassroots organization whose members are working together to improve the quality of their lives, their communities and the environment. A Montana-based nonprofit, AERO serves the needs of the people working to promote renewable energy and conservation, sustainable agriculture and greater community self-reliance. AERO is working to build sustainable food systems through a coalition of Montana partners who want to remove the policy barriers to the processing, distribution and trade of local Montana-grown food for local and regional markets.
