FoodCorps

FoodCorps is a national service organization that seeks to reverse childhood obesity by increasing vulnerable children’s knowledge of, engagement with, and access to healthy food. The centerpiece of our work is an AmeriCorps public service program that recruits young leaders for a year of service in high-obesity, limited-resource communities.

Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS)

The Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) uses organic gardening to engage students, teachers and community members in issues of ecology, local food economies, sustainability, nutrition, health and literacy. The BUGS summer program provides youth with an alternative to a world of instant gratification, fast food, fast travel, and consumerism. BUGS teaches youth the value of the natural world, patience, perseverance, and responsibility for themselves, their community and the planet, and empowers them to make their world a better place.

Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP)

SRAP is a network of national and international consultants who provide services as needed to work with grassroots organizations, rural communities, family farmers and ranchers, and the general public on issues relating today’s agricultural practices and its effect on the current food system and the environment. Our goal is to restore a food production system that is economically viable for producers and local communities, healthful, humane, and environmentally sound. Colorado AgrAbility Project

The goal of the Colorado AgrAbility Project is to promote success in agriculture for people with disabilities and their families in the state of Colorado. The staff provides information, education and service to assist farmers, ranchers and agricultural workers so they can continue to have successful careers in agriculture. Services include assessing work sites and tasks, recommendations for farm/ranch equipment adaptations, and referrals to other local service providers.

Community Agriculture Alliance (CAA) is dedicated to supporting, promoting and preserving agriculture in the Yampa River Valley. International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology (iCAST)

iCAST offers turn-key services in sustainable agriculture focused on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Waste Utilization. iCAST specializes in a) technical and economic feasibility analysis, b) business plan development, c) process design, d) project implementation and management, and e) grant funding and market-based financing. iCAST partners with farmers and rural communities to develop solutions that are sustainable. iCAST projects use local resources for local benefit.
