Business Impact NW

Business Impact NW is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) dedicated to serving underbanked entrepreneurs. We provide coaching, classes, and access to capital to community small businesses, with an emphasis on working with traditionally underserved populations, entrepreneurial low/moderate income earners, women, BIPOC, veterans, immigrants or members of the LGBTQ+ community. We have been serving the community since 1997. We promote long-term positive economic change through financial services, business advice and training. We serve startups as well as existing businesses and are dedicated to helping underserved entrepreneurs at every stage in their business growth.

The Fairbanks Soil & Water Conservation District serves over 600 cooperators and the general public in an area that covers 30,113,580 acres of Interior Alaska, by promoting wise development and conservation of natural resources. Alaska Association of Conservation Districts

The Alaska Association for Conservation Districts (AACD) is an organization formed in 1965 to help all Alaska’s local soil and water districts function efficiently. AACD is a grassroots organization that leverages local, state, federal and private dollars towards helping local Soil & Water Conservation Districts keep their doors open across the entire state.
AACD’s work is helping to address critical conservation issues, including:
erosion control
flood prevention
water conservation and use
wetlands
groundwater
water quality and quantity
nonpoint source pollution
community development
AACD assists Districts in working with landowners, land managers, communities, villages, tribal governments, schools, libraries, and other special interest groups. The help facilitate soil, water, environment, agriculture and other natural resource conservation efforts by providing technical guidance for resource management.

Alaska Seeds of Change

Our hydroponic warehouse, growing primarily herbs and lettuce, serves as the main setting for our vocational training, mental health services, and basic needs support youth programs. We accept calls and questions about our program model, offer up to 1-hour of basic hydroponics consultation (we use Zip Grow vertical grow towers) over zoom, and can help connect Alaskans to mental health services provided by our parent organization Alaska Behavioral Health.
