CTAHR Cooperative Extension Service

Most of the extension agents and many of the specialists are University of Hawai’i faculty members who work from off-campus extension offices. County agents are available for individual consultations and can provide educational workshops and short-courses covering topics in agriculture, home economics, family living, 4-H and other youth activities, nutrition, and health. Educational materials such as brochures, publications, and videos are also available at county extension offices for use by the general public. Services provided by county agents are generally free of charge, but workshops and other organized activities may have a nominal fee.

Hawaii Organic Farmers Association (HOFA)

Hawaii Organic Farmers Association is a nonprofit organization providing education and marketing opportunities to Hawaii producers. The website is a one-stop marketing tool for all organic products and services provided by organic producers, processors, retailers, suppliers, shippers, and related services. Environmental Mediation Center

The Environmental Mediation Center (EMC) is a non-profit organization that designs and administers environmental and agricultural dispute resolution programs. The EMC administers the United States Department of Agriculture’s certified mediation programs for California, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Hawaii.

The EMC provides free mediation services to farmers on farm loans, credit issues, USDA conservation programs, lease issues, farmer/neighbor conflicts, family farm transitions, organic certification, pesticide issues, easement issues, environmental compliance, and other issues.
